We visited twice because the children loved it. That makes it one of our easiest recommendations for a break from the hotel pool.
We stayed at Sol Barbados in Magaluf twice: first for 10 nights in May 2023, then again for 10 nights from 26 May to 5 June 2024. Both stays were all-inclusive. The clearest recommendation we can give is that we chose to go back.

Our quick verdict: Book it for the excellent family facilities, easy entertainment and convenient location—not for the food alone.
Why we went back
The waterslides, pools and kids’ clubs were the reason. They worked so well for our family on the first holiday that returning the following year felt like an easy decision. The children had plenty to do, and the facilities made it possible to enjoy proper pool days without constantly searching for the next activity.
The honest bit: the food
What changed on our second stay: We thought the food was better the first time. In 2024 it was not as good, so despite booking all-inclusive we ate out several times—and the children developed a serious liking for Taco Bell.
Our advice is to allow some extra spending money for meals outside the hotel. The all-inclusive package remains convenient, but the real value of Sol Barbados for us came from its pools, slides, kids’ clubs and location.
Three family days out we actually tried
Pirates Adventure
The dinner and show was very good and within walking distance of Sol Barbados, so there was no transport planning or transfer needed.
Marineland Mallorca
We also spent a family day at Marineland and watched the animal shows. It gave us another easy full-day option from Magaluf.
Would we recommend Sol Barbados?
Yes—especially to families whose priority is keeping the children active and entertained. Its repeat-worthy strengths are the waterslides and kids’ clubs. The main drawback from our own experience was the decline in food quality on the second visit.
Great family facilities, easy access to attractions and enough to make us return—but do not choose it for the food alone.
